Manchester City lose youngster to Juventus

Published 1 Comments

Romanian defender Vlad Nicolae Marin has become the latest youngster to depart Manchester City after signing for Serie A champions Juventus.

18-year-old Marin, who arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Lazio just one year ago, has moved back to Italy on a free transfer after City failed in their attempts to secure him a necessary work permit.

Marin is the second highly-regarded prospect to have left the Premier League title hopefuls this summer, with promising playmaker Denis Suarez having already been sold to Catalan giants Barcelona for an initially undisclosed fee. The former Celta Vigo youth prospect had been in England since 2011, but was widely linked with a return to his native Spain.

Manchester City, who were shockingly beaten 3-2 by top-flight newcomers Cardiff in their last league outing, will look to get their campaign back on track this Saturday with a home clash against another of the newly-promoted sides - Steve Bruce's Hull City.
