Lyon's French international Clement Grenier has declared that he will be staying at Lyon for this season despite the club's failure to progress into the group stages of the Champions League.
The 22 year old French youngster has been linked with a move to north London club Arsenal but has stated he will remain with Lyon.
Grenier extended his contract last July after he signed a two year contract but it seems likely that Lyon's creative force will be moving on in the near future.
After falling to Real Sociedad in the Champions League group stage play-off, rumours were going around that Grenier would leave the Stade de Gerland.
But speaking to RMC Sport, as reported by FourFourTwo, Grenier said: "There is no question to ask. I will stay at least one more season. It will be complicated when I want to leave, but then I must ask the president [Jean-Michel Aulas]. But I am happy in Lyon."
Grenier has certainly hinted at moving on in the near future, then.
He will be hoping to stay healthy and do well this season for Lyon so he will have many suitors when he decides to leave.
If he is able to lead the French giants to any silverware this season then it is likely that the club will be open to selling their young star to the highest bidder.
