Chelsea have no intention of allowing Juan Mata or David Luiz to leave before the transfer deadline and have not received a bid for either player, according to the club's chief executive Ron Gourlay.

Both players have been linked with departures from Stamford Bridge this summer, with the two initially reported to have been made available by Chelsea in their pursuit of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

This suggestion was soon denied by both clubs with Chelsea confirmed to have been approached Manchester United with a cash only offer, but this has not quelled speculation about the respective futures of the duo.

Mata continues to be linked with Manchester United as David Moyes strives to bring reinforcements to Old Trafford, while Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have also been credited with interest in the 25-year-old Spain international.

Luiz, meanwhile, has reportedly been tracked by Barcelona, with the Catalan giants even suggested to have made a formal approach for the Brazilian, which was rebuffed by Chelsea.

Chelsea, though, claim they have not received any offers for Luiz or Mata, and would not encourage any club to formalise their interest in either player.

"Juan Mata is not for sale. David Luiz is not for sale - we have not had a bid," Gourlay said, as broken by Daily Mail journalist Neil Ashton.
