Steve Bruce will launch a bid to sign Arsenal misfit Nicklas Bendtner in what would be his eleventh and final addition for the Hull City squad this summer, reports the Daily Mirror.

Striking additions to the team have become a main priority for Hull as Matty Fryatt, Nick Proschwitz and Aaron McLean all failed to impress in the League Cup against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night.

Yannick Sagbo and Danny Graham are the only recognised strikers in the squad and Steve Bruce would like to add some depth in that position.

Bruce's main target is the Danish international Bendtner.

He has signed Bendtner previously in his career for both Birmingham and Sunderland and, with the forward having a difficult spell at the Emirates, Bruce would like to sign him but is worried his £50,000 a week wages may cause an issue.

He was previously priced out of a move for the Dane last month, but will go back in one final time as the player's situation turns desperate.

Arsene Wenger has so far refused to use Bendtner in his team and that fact is unlikely to change.

The Sunderland boss is happy to take the misfit striker on loan but would need to make either Graham or Jake Livermore a permanent player for Hull before a move would be allowed.
