Gareth Bale is on the verge of signing for Spanish club Real Madrid and if this were to happen, is there anything stopping Madrid from reaching a new level of heights in European football?
I just can't help but wonder if Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo can overshadow everything else in European football this year.
If we look at their statistics and combine them, you get a ridiculous amount of goals scored, this is something that's not really comparable to anything else in European football right now.
We all know what kind of players they are, how their playing style is and what they like to do, but if these two manage to form a strong partnership on the field, what's there to stop them from forming the most fearsome attacking force in the world?
You can name the Barcelona team as a whole I assume, but somehow I don't find it comparable.
Then there's Bayern Munich who dominated both the Bundesliga and the Champions League last year, proving they were simply on another level than their opponents.
But if Real were to form an attacking force with two unique world-class players, I honestly think they will dominate European football this season.
These players are both incredibly ambitious and eager to win trophies, and their ability to win games purely on their own makes a massive difference.
Some people say the price-tag for Bale is outrageous and just simply ridiculous, but I highly disagree. If you look at the big picture, what Bale could bring to the Real Madrid team, with the fantastic squad they already have, it's just worth the money.
Overall, I think this year could be the year that Real Madrid return to their former glory, back to winning trophies.
