Manchester United are ready to make €30million bid for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera as David Moyes continues his search for a midfielder.
According to Cadena Cope, the Old Trafford club have made it known to Athletic that they are interested in the creative midfielder and are ready to pay big money for him.
However, the report also claims that Manchester United may find it difficult to convince the Liga side to sell one of their most influential stars, as the Athletic are not ready to negotiate the sale of the player.
It claims they are taking the same stance as they did with both Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente, in that they will not consider any price under their players' respective buyout clauses.
Cadena Cope claim Herrera's buyout clause is €36million and that Manchester United are highly unlikely to land him unless their offer rises to that amount.
David Moyes has found it difficult to upgrade his centre-midfield area, having had bids rejected for Everton's Marouane Fellaini and Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas, as well as the former Arsenal captain's teammate Thiago Alcantara opting for Bayern Munich over Old Trafford.
Herrera came to prominence for Manchester United fans last year when Athletic put in a breathtaking attacking performance to win 3-2 at Old Trafford on their way to knocking Sir Alex Ferguson's side out of the Europa League at the last 16 stage.
