Chelsea's new signing Samuel Eto'o has spoken of his desire to achieve success with the club and prove to boss Jose Mourinho that he was right to sign him.
Eto'o was confirmed as a Blues player yesterday to link up with Mourinho again, who was his manager at Inter Milan.
And the Cameroon striker is eager to get going and prove to Mourinho that Chelsea don't need Manchester United striker Rooney, who was the subject of two failed bids from the west London outfit.
"I've had a couple of opportunities to come to England before, including the first time Jose was here, but it didn't work out for one reason or another," Eto'o said on Chelseafc.com.
"Since that time I have had a career where I have been lucky enough to win a lot of trophies in different countries, but one of my last dreams as a professional is to come and play in England and see if I can have the same success as in my previous clubs.
"I am very happy to be here but also anxious because I want to get playing as soon as possible."
The 32-year-old, who was reportedly on £300,000 a week at previous club Anzhi Makhachkala, has not travelled to Prague for tonight's European Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich and with the international break coming up, Eto'o will have to wait until the game against Everton on September 14 to potentially make his Chelsea debut.
