The draw for the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League group stage was held in Monaco on 29 August 2013. The 32 teams were drawn into eight groups of four.
Group A: Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad.
Group B: Real Madrid, Juventus, Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen.
Group C: Benfica, PSG, Olympiakos, Anderlecht.
Group D: Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, Manchester City, Viktoria Plzen.
Group E: Chelsea, Schalke, FC Basel, Steaua Bucharest.
Group F: Arsenal, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli.
Group G: Porto, Atletico Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg, Austria Vienna.
Group H: Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax, Celtic.
So which teams will make it to the top 16 of 2013-14 UEFA Champions League?
Manchester United and Shakhtar Donetsk should comfortably progress.
Galatasaray reached the quarter-finals last time but I don't think this time they will go any further than the group stage. Real Madrid and Juventus should be able to reach the top 16.
I expect Benfica and PSG to progress to the next stage.
I expect Bayern Munich to progress as the group winners. Manchester City performed poorly last time but this time, I think they will at least make it to the top 16.
Chelsea and Schalke should easily progress to the next stage.
One of the tough groups. I expect Arsenal to challenge Borussia Dortmund and Napoli but I don't think they will make it to the top 16.
I expect Porto and Atletico Madrid to progress to the next stage.
Group H: The Group of Death
I think this is the toughest group. I expect Barcelona and AC Milan to make it to the top 16.
