Last night, following Real Madrid's match against Deportivo, Kaka expressed his desire to leave the Santiago Bernabeu after falling down the pecking order.
GMS contributor Tanveer Dosani writes his opinion on the potential destinations of Kaka, if he should get his wish in leaving the Bernabeu.
1) Manchester United
The Red Devils have been in a hunt for a new midfielder since the end of the last season, only to miss out on the likes of Arturo Vidal, Claudio Marchisio, Luka Mordric, Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Tony Kroos.
David Moyes now looks desperate for a new central midfielder following the retirement of Paul Scholes. According to the reports, Manchester United have bid for the Brazilian playmaker in the past. This might be the correct time for them to get Kaka in.
The Gunners have had arguably the most disappointing transfer window in the league by letting 16 players go and signing two freebies. To add to their woes, their midfield star Mikel Arteta was sidelined for 8-10 weeks following an injury and Oxlade Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski have been ruled out for 6-8 weeks and 10 weeks respectively. Arsenal are clearly running out of quality midfielders.
Kaka on the other hand, has insisted that he will join a European club and Arsenal would suit him as they will provide him with 90 minutes on the pitch consistently.
Even though Brendan Rodgers has adopted a youthful transfer policy, he may look to add balance with the purchase of an experienced campaigner such as Kaka. Along with Coutinho and Lucas Leiva, he could be another addition to their squad .
A move to Anfield my reignite the fire in Kaka as the World Cup is approaching and Kaka wants to be in the Brazil squad.
4) AC Milan
Yes. You read it right. The former AC Milan man may go back to the San Siro to attempt to revive his career. There were reports in the January transfer window that AC Milan had shown interest in the playmaker but could not sign him as they ran out of funds after the singing of Mario Balotelli from Man City.
The latest sale of Kevin Prince Boateng to Schalke 04 means that the playmaker could be replaced by Kaka.
5) LA Galaxy
The Major League soccer club came into the limelight after the signing of David Beckham in 2007. The club also showed interest in the Brazilian in January transfer window but they were told that Kaka would see out his contract at the Bernabeu.
LA Galaxy might come in again and take away the super star as he will get a sure shot 90 minutes in most weeks there.
Wherever Kaka goes, expect his move to be worth every penny spent as this year is World Cup year and the playmaker would give 100% to add his name to the Brazil squad.
