Christian Atsu is set to undergo a medical at Chelsea ahead of his proposed move from Porto, reports Sky Sports.
The Ghana international has already agreed terms on a long-term five year deal and will undergo the medical with Chelsea staff later today [Friday].
As the Jose Mourinho currently has plenty of options in midfield, the deal will see the player loaned out for the season to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem with immediate effect.
The signing of the 21-year-old represents another scoop in the transfer ahead of Tottenham after they stole £30m WIllian from under the noses of their London rivals.
Andre Villas-Boas, who gifted Atsu his debut whilst at Porto, was keen to bring the player to White Hart Lane after Atsu admitted he would not be signing another contract with the Portuguese champions.
Liverpool were also linked with a move but failed to agree a fee with Porto.
Thanks to Jose Mourinho's swift action, Atsu will most likely complete a £3.5m deal that will see him move to Stamford Bridge.
