Tottenham join Arsenal & Liverpool in £20m Turkish winger chase

Tottenham Hotspur are the latest Premier League club lining up a move for Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan, who is also a target for Arsenal and Liverpool, reports the Daily Express.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderón Stadium this summer, with former club Galatasaray and AS Monaco also monitoring the player's situation.

According to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is ready to meet Turan's £20million buy-out clause, in a bid to bring the Turkish international to White Hart Lane, before the close of the transfer window next week.

Tottenham have already been extremely busy over the summer, and are now looking to capitalise on Arsenal and Liverpool's hesitancy with a big-money move for the Atletico Madrid star.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has endured a frustrating window so far, and will not want to miss out on another headline signing, particularly if it's to their north London rivals.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers would have been quietly confident of Liverpool's chances of luring Turan to Anfield, after his agent, Ahmet Bulut, spoke out last week, to say that his client would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

However, Tottenham now look to be the frontrunners to secure the sought-after player's signature, having entered the race for the Primera Division ace with a matter of days to spare.
