AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Italy international Alessandro Matri from Juventus for a fee believed to be in the region of £9m.
Matri has decided to leave Juve for the San Siro after falling behind Antonio Conte's summer signings Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente in the pecking order in Turin.
Conte made Matri and Fabio Quagliarella available for transfer while Sebastian Giovinco and Mirko Vucinic were preferred in reserve, with both players attracting Premier League interest during the summer.
Matri was linked with a move to Everton and Sunderland for much of the close season, while Quagliarella continues to look for a new club, reportedly attracting interest from Norwich City and Arsenal.
The 22-year-old arrives at the San Siro with a record of 29 goals in 84 games during three years at Juve, which saw him help the Old Lady secure successive Serie A titles.
Mario Balotelli, Stephan El Shaarawy and Giampaolo Pazzini will provide Matri with stern competition for a starting spot in the final third, with the Azzurri forward handed the number nine shirt by Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Milan have been searching for reinforcements without success for the last two months, leaving Rossoneri fans disappointed as deals for Keisuke Honda and Adem Ljajic both fell through.
