4. Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

The Frenchman was a find of Jose Mourinho, then Real Madrid manager, when he transferred from Lens in 2011 to join Real Madrid, who paid close to €10million to the Ligue 1 club.

Varane slowly moved up the ranks at Santiago Bernabeu, with 2012-13 proving to be the turning point, when he played crucial matches for the Spanish club and came up with majestic performances earning praise from all quarters.

He became first choice ahead of Pepe and Raul Albiol last year, the defender who is both tactically and technically skilful would improve to be one of the best in the world in the coming years. A bright star for the future for France national team as well as for his club Real Madrid.
