Arsenal have been told that they will have to launch massive transfer bids if they were even thinking about bidding for Swansea duo Ashley Williams and Michu, by the Swans' general manager, Alun Cowie.

Swansea have put a reported £25m price tag on striker Michu, who bagged 22 goals in all competitions for the Welsh side last year, as well as winning the both the Supporters' and Players' Player of The Year awards.

Wenger is a long-term admirer of Williams and has been tracking him for months, but Cowie is adamant that the pair are going nowhere.

"Both are integral to our plans this season so we will be fighting tooth and nail to keep them. I haven't heard of any offers for either of them," said Cowie, as reported on talkSPORT.

With transfer deadline day ticking, it remains to be seen if Wenger and Arsenal will attempt to lure the Welsh club into agreeing a fee.
