Bacary Sagna admits he cannot wait for the “magic” of the north London derby this weekend.
The derby has had its fair share of thrillers in the past and never seems to disappoint. It is one of the most anticipated games of the season for many football fans. Arsenal head into the game in good form and can boast beating Tottenham 5-2 in their teams past two head to heads at the Emirates Stadium.
Sagna feels that his side are more than capable of winning the game. The French defender told Arsenal's official website: “As I have said before, we can beat anyone. We have very talented players who are young and motivated’.
He then went on to add: “This game is one of the highlights of the season because it is a derby - we know how important it is for the fans, the club and the players to win it. The atmosphere is just magic and it will be even more magic if we win on Sunday.”
Arsene Wenger's side will be looking to extend their record against Andre Villas-Boas’ team, but does not expect them to be weakened without Spurs superstar Gareth Bale.
AVB’s summer of signings will either strengthen his squad or the new introductions to the team may not have time to gel ahead of Sunday's game. Arsenal, meanwhile, can boast a settled squad but very little in way of new transfers.
With such a fierce rivalry between Spurs and the Gunners this Sunday's clash promises entertainment and drama if previous years are anything to go by.
