With only a couple of days remaining in the 2013 summer transfer window, you can expect a few big deals to roll in before the deadline on September 2 at 11pm.
However, there are a few clubs that have already been splashing the cash, as they attempt to boost their squads sufficiently for a trophy challenge this season.
On Friday night, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho slammed clubs that were spending lavishly this year, despite the arrival of FFP regulations and the restrain in the transfer market they are supposed to bring.
He called them "economic sharks" for not investing more wisely and handing out too much money for player, apparently the boss of the club owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who has spent over £1billion in past decade, said this without a hint of irony.
Anyway, it matters not, because the money has been spent and there's nothing to be done, apart from wait and see if UEFA will do anything about it.
Gearing up for a deadline day flurry, GMS decided to go through the clubs that have spent the most in the transfer window so far. We'll probably do another one once the window is closed to see if anybody went really mental and threw their money about.
