Tottenham Hotspur announced the signing of 21-year old Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen on Friday evening.
The fee Tottenham paid for the player is in the region of £11.5 million. This brings Tottenham's spending to over a £100 million including signing Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela who were all signed for club record fees.
Eriksen has made 162 games for Ajax scoring 32 goals and making 54 assists and has previously played at Alax with Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen.
Eriksen is a player who despite his relative young age has good experince who has won 3 consecutive Eredivisie titles and has previously played in the Champions League. Eriksen has been widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in world football.
When speaking about his move to Spurs, Eriksen said: "Everyone has followed the development of Spurs and it's something I want to be part of."
With the signing of Eriksen it appears that Spurs' rebuilding is now complete giving Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid the go ahead although the deal won't be completed until after the North London derby this sunday.
