Andros Townsend has compared himself to PFA Player of the year Gareth Bale, saying he can be just as good as the Welshman.
Townsend is an explosive winger who has stayed under the radar, and now burst onto the scene with a positive start to the season for a new-look Tottenham Hotspur.
The Englishman has been on loan nine times during his time at Tottenham, as he looked to get experience under his belt.
Townsend has had over 100 appearances in the league, but only six of them were in a Tottenham shirt.
He looks to be a part of Tottenham's plans this season, despite the north Londoners going on a £100m+ spending spree.
Like Gareth Bale, Andros Townsend's style of play is running direct at the defenders, and cutting in on his left foot. They both have a brilliant shooting ability.
As well as going on loan, the 22-year-old has played in the England Under-16,17,19 and 21s, and has made 18 appearances in all of these combined.
Townsend will be hoping for his first England first team cap, as this will help his career at Tottenham.
The winger has set his sights high, comparing himself to one of the current highest ranked players in the world, 24-year-old Bale.
The Welshman is on the brink of a world-record transfer to Real Madrid, after being essential in Spurs previous campaign, scoring 23 stunning goals.
Do you think that Townsend is right in comparing himself to Bale?
