Mesut Ozil is involved with advanced transfer talks with Arsenal, Sky Sports reports.
The German midfielder, who has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bernabeu for the majority of the summer, is now thought to be close to agreeing a deal that would see him leave Madrid.
Reports claim the potential fee lies somewhere in the region of £42.5million, as Arsenal appear to finally be flexing their financial muscle in the wake of their victory in the north London derby.
The Gunners have also been linked with moves for Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria, but Madrid are unlikely to want to part with all three unless they are completely comfortable that there team can do without the trio.
Ozil's position at least however looks to be one that is open to negotiation, as Gareth Bale's arrival has effectively given Madrid the deal they have desired all summer.
