With a matter of hours left in this summer's transfer window, Manchester United seem to be stepping up with their efforts to sign new players after failing on several attempts over moves for the likes of Baines, Fellaini, Thiago & Fabregas.
It seems that Moyes has given up on his attempts to sign his former left back Baines by turning attention to 18-year-old Luke Shaw who has impressed massively at his time in Southampton.
The Saints full back was dropped to the bench this afternoon in their 1-0 defeat to Norwich and rumours are circling it's due to an imminent bid by Manchester United. The move would make perfect sense from a United perspective who have longed to bring in a replacement for an ageing Patrice Evra and Shaw would be the perfect long term investment.
However it's reported Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has issued a hands off warning to dampen the Red Devils attempt at signing the young Englishman - stating that United are 'wasting their time' according to Sky Sports.
Shaw is one of the many talents to have come through the next wave of Southampton's academy in recent years with other prodigies including Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott who have moved on, but Pochettino will be doing his best to hold on to their prize players.
As well as Shaw, United have apparently made a £10 million bid for De Rossi and £25 million for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, as they prepare to bolster their options before the close of the transfer window.
