Samuel Eto'o arrived at Chelsea on a free transfer and has signed a one-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
A prolific goalscorer, it remains to be seen whether the 32-year old will prove to be a hit with the west London outfit.
Nevertheless, his goalscoring record speaks for itself. Having netted over 200 times for both club and country, he brings unquestionable quality to a side challenging for the title.
Eto'o used to terrorise the Blues defenders in the past and they will surely be glad to have him on the same side this time round.
This also means he is reunited with his former boss Jose Mourinho, with whom he worked at Inter Milan.
After failing to acquire the services of Wayne Rooney, the Blues boss turned his attention towards his former hitman.
It is debatable as to whether or not Chelsea were forced to panic buy since the Cameroonian's one-year deal suggests that he will not be the long-term solution for the foreseeable future.
However, the prospect of having a proven striker with a keen eye for goal can only mean the world of good for Chelsea's attack.
It will be interesting to see if Eto'o's presence can get the best out of the likes of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, with the former struggling to justify the £50m price tag since moving from Liverpool in 2011 and the latter yet to impress at Stamford Bridge.
