With Ivan Gazidis' promise of satisfactory transfer activity gone out the window, it seems as though Arsenal don't have long to scrape through last-minute additions to the squad that seems yet another woeful campaign.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players in this transfer season, including the likes of Luiz Gustavo, Gonzalo Higuain, Stevan Jovetic, Kondogbia, Michu, Ashley Williams, Juan Mata, Yohan Cabaye and most pertinently Luis Suarez, who was, for a while, the main transfer target of the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
This being said, none of the deals have come through.
The only recruits Arsenal have made to their side this transfer window would be the free-transfer arrivals of the unproven U21 French striker Yaya Sanogo as well as ex-Gunner Mathieu Flamini.
With the injury crisis that Arsenal is facing right now, the addition of two unproven players has obviously failed to calm the nerves of the outraged Arsenal supporters who have been urging Wenger to spend.
This week, Arsene Wenger also insisted that the club will not panic-buy as they had done two transfer windows ago. He was right in the sense that money should not be spent on any old player.
However with the weakness in numbers that Arsenal are poised to play the 2013/2014 campaign with, it seems as though the Arsenal boss is going to end-up panic-buying come the January transfer window.
Will Arsenal complete any signings by tonight? If so, who do you expect them to secure the signatures of? Comment in the box below.
