Julian Draxler has emerged as a target for Arsenal right at the end of the transfer window.

Arsenal are willing to pay £40m for the 19-year-old, who was linked heavily with joining Chelsea at one stage.

Arsenal may be perturbed by the audacious €60m price tag that has been slapped on his head by Schalke. Although, Schalke have pulled off the signing of Kevin Prince Boateng and therefore may be slightly more agreeable to sell their prized asset.

The attacking midfielder is an extremely exciting player, with an ability to score spectacular goals from long range.

Arsene Wenger has reservations about the large price it is believed, but Arsenal are so desperate to appease their angered fans that they are willing to more than treble their transfer record to land him.

Draxler would also represent the marquee signing promised at the the start of a window which has so far yielded only Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini on free transfers.

Furthermore, Brazilian international Kaka has joined AC Milan despite being linked with Arsenal earlier this week.

The talented player, who has been riddled with injuries, wanted to leave Real Madrid to pursue regular first team footbal, Wenger is still hopeful on a deal regarding Mesut Ozil, and according to reports it's close..
