In this summer transfer window, Tottenham have been significantly more active than Arsenal when bringing players into the club. Tottenham have spent over £100 million on new signings whereas Arsenal have only added two free transfers to their squad.

It has been suggested that, due to Tottenham's spending spree bringing in several new players, Tottenham are now just as good as Arsenal and are in a better position to compete for the top four places and the Premier League title.

Although Arsenal have only made 2 free additions to their squad, they have proved for the last 8 seasons that they are a strong top 4 team. Tottenham however have not proved themselves to be good enough to finish in the coveted Champions League places.

Due to this, Tottenham have built a squad to finish in the top 4 but Arsenal already have a team capable finishing in the top four year after year and because Arsenal have continuously finished above Tottenham in every season since 1995, and shows that Arsenal have always been a step ahead of Tottenham.

When Arsenal and Tottenham's squads are compared, it is a case of quality over quantity. Arsenal have much more quality within their smaller squad while Tottenham have a greater depth in their squad.

Arsenal also have a huge advantage over their North London rivals in the form of Arsene Wenger. Arguably one of the best managers in the world, Wenger's unrivalled intelligence, unique qualities and dedication to Arsenal cannot be matched by the young and inexperienced Andre Villas-Boas.

As it currently stands, Arsenal are still ahead of their North London rivals and another exciting Premier League season lies ahead for both.
