Fabio Borini is set to complete a deadline day loan switch to Sunderland, according to various reports.

The twenty-two year old Italian front-man only joined up with former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers last summer, but has fallen quickly down the pecking order quickly.

Daniel Sturridge's impressive start to the season as well as the arrival of Iago Aspas from Celta Vigo and Luis Suarez's imminent return, have seen Borini start the search for a new home in which he can play regular football.

It appears that for this season that home will be the Stadium of Light, under the wing of Italian manager Paolo Di Canio. Borini is hoping to gain first-team opportunities in order to impress Italian national team manager Cesare Prandelli ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Cats have made a disappointing start to their Premier League season, and Borini will become their 13th signing of the summer if the move does come to fruition.

Liverpool are also loaning out full-back Andre Wisdom to Wigan.
