Chelsea goalkeeper pulls off incredible last minute save

It seems crazy to think that Chelsea own one of the most coveted goalkeepers on the planet, yet make him leave on loan year after year.

Thibaut Courtois is yet to make an appearance for Chelsea since singing from Gent in 2011, instead being loaned out to Atletico Madrid for the past three seasons.

He has gone on to win individual awards and break records at the Estadio Vicente Calderon, most notably his record of going 820 minutes without conceding.

And he has continued that form in to the new season.

At the weekend Courtois showed why Chelsea hold him in such high regard by making a stunning save for the La Liga club against Real Sociedad.

With the score delicately poised at 2-1 and 89 minutes on the clock, the ball fell to Esteban Granero nine yards outside the Atletico box.

Granero fired it at the goal in what looked certain to be a dramatic equaliser before Courtois produced the match winning save.

The stunning reaction led to gasps reverberating around the stadium as the 21-year-old 'keeper showed why he is considered to be one of the world's best in his position.

With a few more saves like this, you can expect Jose Mourinho to welcome Courtois back to Stamford Bridge for his long-awaited debut soon.
