Tonight the transfer window finally closes and for many managers it is their last chance to assemble the squad they believe is going to bring them success this season. However if things go badly and no signings are made, or the wrong signings arrive and results take a turn for the worse, a whole host of Premier League bosses could find their position a little less comfortable.
As the importance of remaining in the Premier League, or progressing towards the top of it grows, chairmen are becoming increasingly trigger-happy and the sheer number of sackings has become ludicrous.
With chairmen trying to protect their investments and facing a struggle to keep the fans onside, results become much more important and the hint of a bad run could spell trouble for the man in charge.
