Manchester United faced Liverpool at Anfield. Both teams were unbeaten going into the meeting, but who would come out defeated?
The game kicked off at 13:30 and was the first game of Super Sunday. There was much anticipation and the game didn't disappoint.
Liverpool took the lead early on after Daniel Agger's header was deflected off the head of Daniel Sturridge.
I’m still not sure if the England International was trying to avoid the ball, but either way, that strike turned out to be the winning goal.
Throughout the game, United struggled to get going, constantly conceding fouls, earning themselves four yellow cards and maybe lucky not to receive any reds.
Robin van Persie was one of the culprits - you could define Van Persie's style as 'hacking' during the game. Steven Gerrard clearly wasn't happy and confronted the Dutchman late in the first-half.
Liverpool came close to securing the three points in stoppage time, after David De Gea pushed Raheem Sterling's effort over the crossbar.
Liverpool’s victory will raise more questions over David Moyes' management style, after United's poor pre-season and now this.
Questions will also be asked about where Luis Suarez will fit into the Reds' team if he decides not to relocate.
I will be surprised to see Sturridge, Iago Aspas or any of the Liverpool team that featured today. Brendan Rodgers might even be convinced that selling Suarez might not be so bad with his team's current form.
