Mesut Ozil's impending arrival at Arsenal will represent one of the most exciting pieces of business in the Premier League this transfer window.

If reports are to be believed, the Real Madrid star is already undergoing a medical in Germany, prior to completing a £42.4million move to the Emirates Stadium.

Should the deal be completed, it will surpass the north London club's previous record transfer by more than £27million, delivering Arsene Wenger one of Europe's most exciting attacking midfield talents.

Ozil signed for Real Madrid from Werder Bremen in a £12.4million deal in 2010, and will leave the Santiago Bernabeu for more than three times that amount, as the Gunners close in on their first marquee signing of the summer.
