As Mesut Ozil's potential transfer to Arsenal heats up on deadline day, now seems like a good time to look back at the influential German players to have played in the Premier League.

There has been a recent influx of incredibly talented players from Germany, due in no small part to their fine international form over the last few years and the prosperity of German sides in the Champions League.

Players such as Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker, André Schürrle and Lewis Holtby have all been signed by top Premier League teams and there looks to be one more top German arrival on the way in the shape of Mesut Ozil.
