Tottenham fans took to Twitter to express their dismay at former hero Gareth Bale kissing the badge of his new side.
Bale, who was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player today after completing a deal worth £85million, sparked fresh controversy as he was seen to kiss his new club's badge after donning the shirt for the first time.
The move, which Bale described himself as a 'dream', eclipses the world record for the most amount of money ever paid for a player, held previously by Bale's new team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tottenham fans, who have had to endure a summer's worth of gossip concerning the future of the man who was nothing short of magical for them last season, were furious with how Bale acted at his official unveiling.
One Spurs supporter tweeted: "Shocking scenes as Gareth Bale kisses the Real Madrid badge."
Another wrote: "Bale already kissing the Madrid badge.Didnt take him long to get over Spurs."
"Bale kisses the Real Madrid badge after securing his "dream" move, this makes me want to vomit," was how another described Bale's actions.
The Welsh international is believed to have departed Tottenham on amicable terms, but it's highly doubtful he'll remain a crowd favourite due to the manner of his exit.
