Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to make a deadline day attempt to sign Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk.

Spurs have been deterred by the Brazilian's wages who, according to The Express, earns around £4.7 million a year at the Russian club.

Daniel Levy, who is well-known for his vigilance when it comes to spending money, has just participated in the club's most lavish summer spend in it's history.

However, the north London club won't be thrashing-out a deal for Hulk on transfer deadline day after they realised the expense in attracting the player.

Andre Villas-Boas already has a strong forward line at his disposal after adding players this window.

Hulk had previously caused uproar at Zenit over his inflated wages. The Brazilian international is supposedly earning around three-times that of his team mates.

Spurs will simply not take the risk for a single player having already funded their new additions with the value of Gareth Bale.
