Arsenal target Abel Hernandez has reportedly told Palermo that he wants a move away from the club before today’s 11pm transfer deadline.

The Uruguayan has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, and now Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for him.

It is believed that the 23-year-old has been trying to push through a move from Palermo after facing relegation with his current club just last season.

"The club and the coach told me that I could leave if the right offer was made and I think that has now arrived," the striker told calciomercato.it.

"They know what I want and they know what they promised me."

Wenger is keen to add another striker to the squad to give Oliver Giroud competition.

The Arsenal boss has already signed French striker Yaya Sanogo, however at just 20-years-old, he is not really expected to make a big impact this year.

Wenger is also interested in Chelsea star Demba Ba who has dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the signings of Andre Schurrle and Samuel Eto’o.
