Deals have been struck, and records have been broken, it’s been an eventful transfer window, but now that it’s coming to an end, which clubs have uncovered gems and negotiated hard?
5. André Schürrle – Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea - £18 million
Renowned for his blistering pace, quick footwork and ferocious shooting, André Schürrle should fit in perfectly at Chelsea.
Able to play down the left wing, or in the hole, Schürrle was one of the first main deals done; let’s see if he has a good first season.
4. Roberto Soldado – Valencia to Tottenham - £26 million
The first but not the only time Tottenham broke their transfer fee record, Roberto Soldado is another player with a fantastic goal scoring record.
At 28-years-old Soldado has been on the scene for quite a while, but only know is he receiving the rewards for years of consistent brilliance.
3. Wilfried Bony – Vitesse to Swansea - £12 million
The stand out in the Dutch League last year, Swansea have done very well to secure Wilfried Bony for such a small fee.
With 31 goals in 30 games in last season’s Eredvise Bony definitely comes into the category of a sharp eyed forward, and could work wonders for the Swans this season.
2. Erik Lamela – AS Roma to Tottenham - £30 million
With a fantastic future ahead of him, Erik Lamela is the perfect replacement for star player Gareth Bale.
Only 21-years-old, Lamela is either a left-winger or a striker, but one thing that is for certain is he will offer up some entertainment, with fantastic trickery and bags of pace he’s a very dangerous player.
1. Christian Eriksen – Ajax to Tottenham - £11 million
How on earth Tottenham have done this deal I don’t know, £11 million Christian Eriksen is by far the best deal of the transfer window.
At 21 years of age Eriksen is the same age as Lamela, and I would put them at about the same level, that doesn’t mean Tottenham have over-paid for Lamela, it means they have done a great deal for Eriksen. So Tottenham have been by far the best team in the transfer window, and they have made the best signings of the transfer window, Andre Villas-Boas has had a brilliant summer.
