Swansea City are on the verge of completing the season-long loan signing of Alvaro Vazquez from Getafe, according to Sky Sports.
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup admitted he was working on bringing in another attacking option and he has beaten the 11pm deadline to swoop for Vazquez.
"We will do something. It's someone from abroad," said Laudrup.
"In this case it's a loan deal with an option so if he does well we will buy him and I think that's the right way.
It is thought that Swansea moved to the signing of Vazquez after narrowly missing out on Peter Odemwingie. He now looks set to join Cardiff City, bar a repeat of last year's deadline day antics.
Swansea managed to pick up their first points of the season with a 2-0 win over West Brom this weekend, and the signing of Vazquez will surely strengthen their side even further.
Swansea didn't find goals hard to come by last season and with the signings of Vazquez and Wilfried Bony, it's unlikely they will struggle to score goals this season either.
It will be interesting to see whether Vazquez adapts to the pace of the English game as swiftly as his fellow compatriot Michu did, exactly a year ago.
The future of duo Ashley Williams and Michu seem to be safe, for now at least, with the Swans managing to fight off the interest from Arsenal.
