Aston Villa are in talks to sign Lazio's Libor Kozak for £7million as a late addition to their six summer signings so far, according to BBC Sport.
The Czech Republic international eclipsed such stars as Edinson Cavani and Fernando Torres to claim top scorer in last season's Europa League with eight goals.
Despite his prowess in front of goal in Europe, a lack of appearances meant he failed to record a goal in the league last season.
The versatile forward has made 58 appearances for the Serie 'A' side since joining in 2008 from Czech side Opava, and he also has four caps for his country.
The 24-year-old's arrival may pave the way for midfielder Barry Bannan to complete a loan move to Crystal Palace, with Paul Lambert also hoping to unload various other fringe players.
Kozak played 30 matches for Brescia whilst on loan from Lazio in the 2009-10 season and has also experienced English football early in his career when on trial at Portsmouth.
The arrival of the 6ft 3in player at Villa Park would bolster an attack which already includes the likes of Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
22-year-old Nicklas Helenius has also been brought in to strengthen the Villa strike force, joining for an undisclosed fee from Aalborg earlier in the summer.
