Everton have signed Romelu Lukaku on loan after he rejected a return to West Brom, reports BBC.
With Everton's recent goal drought, Lukaku seems a perfect acquisition for Everton with the big Belgian scoring 17 goals in 20 starts for West Brom last season.
Signed from Anderlecht, for an initial fee of £12 million he can't seem to nail down a place in the Chelsea starting XI. He impressed greatly at West Brom and it seems new boss Roberto Martinez has pulled of one of the coups of the summer.
He seems to have replaced Victor Anichebe, with the Nigerian on his way to West Brom. He is what Everton have been missing. He adds a new dimension to Everton's attack with his pace and sheer presence.
This is a smart and shrewd impressive piece of business only if he is on loan for a season. With deals in place for Gareth Barry and James McCarthy, Everton have brought in the following this season:
Arouna Kone (Wigan, £5m), Joel Robles (Atletico Madrid, undisclosed), Antolin Alcaraz (Wigan, free), Gerard Deulofeu (Barcelona, season-long loan), James McCarthy (Wigan, undisclosed), Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea, season-long loan) Gareth Barry ( Manchester City, season-long loan)
It has been an exciting end to the season and Everton fans will be very happy with what has happened. Lukaku will be unavailable for Everton's next game against Chelsea, but will be available for the rest of the season.
