Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner is set to complete a season-long loan move to Besiktas before the close of the Turkish transfer window, according to the London Metro.
The 24-year-old left-back has been heavily linked with a move to Istanbul, after his agent recently confirmed that talks with the Super Lig outfit were at an advanced stage.
Buttner is understood to have asked David Moyes to leave Old Trafford, as he continues his search for regular first-team football, having made just five Premier League appearances during his debut season for Manchester United in 2012/13.
And, after seeing a switch to SPL champions Celtic collapse over the weekend, the Dutchman is keen to join Besiktas as soon as possible.
"We are working towards completing the deal, we have agreed personal terms with Alexander Buttner," confirmed the club's vice-president Nuri Cebi.
"We have also reached an agreement with Manchester United, and we will complete the loan transfer within the next one to two days."
Buttner signed a five-year contract after joining Manchester United from Vitesse Arnehm in a €4million deal last summer. But, after struggling to dislodge Patrice Evra, he is eager to negotiate a move away from England.
