Arjen Robben

Arjen Robben arrived in La Liga from Chelsea in August 2007. Jose Mourinho was reluctant to see the winger depart Stamford Bridge but it appeared the Dutchman had his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

Robben, who has won 64 caps for his native Netherlands, spent just two years in Madrid. Despite arguably being one of the club's strongest performers, the respective arrivals of superstar duo Kaka and Ronaldo in 2009 ultimately led to his departure.

He left the club later that summer, joining Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich. He has since flourished in Germany, forming a key part of the impressive 2012/13 treble-winning squad that defeated domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.
