Wesley Sneijder

The summer of 2009 was a difficult one for Dutch stars at Real. In addition to international teammates Robben and Huntelaar, talented playmaker Wesley Sneijder also departed the club after just two years.

He had initially joined the Spanish giants from Eredivisie heavyweights Ajax in July 2007 and enjoyed a largely successful, albeit brief, stint with the club.

Inter Milan were the club to ultimately benefit from Real's embarrassment of riches, with Sneijder becoming a vital cog of their attacking unit for several seasons after he arrived in 2009.
