There have been some great signings throughout the summer 2013 transfer window, not all of which have made it onto this shortlist.
GMS contributor Matthew Wall lists his Premier League summer transfer window XI.
GK - Simon Mignolet (Sunderland to Liverpool): With three clean sheets (including a penalty save) in his first three games for the club, the former Sunderland man is already proving what a great addition to the team he has been.
DF - Steven Caulker (Tottenham to Cardiff City): Many were surprised when Andre Villas-Boas let Caulker leave White Hart Lane, and it could be a great piece of business for the Premier League newcomers. If he can recapture his form from the start of last season, we could see him work his way back into contention for an England place.
DF - Dejan Lovren (Lyon to Southampton): Southampton needed to sure up their defence after conceding 60 goals last season, and Lovren fits the bill. He has European pedigree from his time at Lyon and was somewhat of a coup for the South Coast side.
DF - Mamadou Sakho (PSG to Liverpool): Another surprise transfer, the born and bred Parisian Mamadou Sakho had been at PSG his entire professional career. Liverpool swooped on deadline day to complete the signing of the French international, who will fight for a starting spot with Daniel Agger, Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel.
DF - Antonio Luna (Sevilla to Aston VIlla): Luna, an attacking Spanish full-back arrived at Villa Park and made an immediate contribution. He scored on his debut in the 3-1 win over Arsenal and will provided some much needed width on the left hand side of Villa's defence.
MF - Jesus Navas (Sevilla to Man City): Jesus Navas had been under Man City's radar for months before he finally completed his Premier League move. He has already demonstrated his superb ability in City's opening games of the season, and could be the difference between first and second place for City this season.
MF - Paulinho (Corinthians to Tottenham): A key performer for Brazil in the Confederations Cup, Paulinho's arrival at Spurs led to the departure of Scott Parker. Equally as adept in attack or defence, expect big things from this tidy central midfielder.
MF - Leroy Fer (FC Twente to Norwich): Fer almost moved to Everton on January's transfer deadline day last season, only for the move to be hampered by complications in the medical. Norwich moved in quickly this summer and signed the in demand Dutchman. Fast, strong and good on the ball, Fer possesses all the right attributes to succeed in the Premier League.
MF - Mezut Ozil (Real Madrid to Arsenal): Arsenal certainly left it late, but boy did they deliver. Arsene Wenger has managed to keep the fans on side with this truly inspired signing. If Ozil can replicate his form for Real Madrid, he is sure to set the Premier League alight.
ST - Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea to Everton - Loan): If the Belgian striker can replicate his 17 goal haul at West Brom last season, then this will be a truly inspired signing by Roberto Martinez. He should help to take some of the weight and expectation off Nikica Jelavic's shoulders, who struggled for form last season.
ST - Libor Kozak (Lazio to Aston Villa): A bit of a surprise inclusion this one, especially with some of the other strikers that have been signed throughout this transfer window. If he can hit the ground running and adapt to the rigour of the English game, there is no reason why Kozak cannot be a key player for Villa this season.
