Since the rise of multi million and billion pound takeovers from stinking rich owners, the amount of money being spent on transfers is becoming ludicrous, along with the wages being offered to the players.

Gareth Bale stated after his record breaking transfer move that money wasn't a motivating factor and that he'd arrived at the world's biggest club to win trophies, and would have done for a few pennies.

Few can doubt Bale's intentions in that sense, although that's easy to say when you're set to pocket around £300,000 per week.
