The transfer window was squeezed shut on Monday evening, bringing to a close a 63-day period during which Premier League clubs broke spending records for the total outlay over the summer months.

A mammoth £630 million was spent on player acquisition in the English top-flight, with Arsenal claiming the most expensive signing of the summer, as Mesut Ozil signed in a club record £42.5 million deal.

Ozil's arrival at the Emirates Stadium as served as a morale boost to fans and players alike, and was greeted by genuine excited by Arsenal stars Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere.

The recruitment of a player of such repute and talent will benefit the Arsenal squad as a whole, but some players will gain more from his signing than others.

This, of course, is the same for transfer activity across the board - with some signings, or lack thereof, set to provide players with the fillip they need to revive their careers, or take their respective games to the next level.
