Is Mesut Ozil too good for Arsenal?

Many people will argue that Mesut Ozil's big money move to Arsenal came as a shock, especially as some people are saying he is one of the best midfielders in the world.

To be honest, it was quite a shock for every Arsenal fan that Ozil was so keen to move, with reports claiming Ozil had turned down a big-money move to PSG and Manchester United.

But, every Arsenal fan has been silenced after Wenger splashed the cash, spending £42.4 million on the 24-year-old German superstar.

Ozil will be back to play for the Gunners on September 14 in their away game against Sunderland and I bet the fans can't wait. But right now he's on international duty with the Germany squad where he is one of their most important players.

When Ozil comes back to play he'll probably play in the centre of the midfield, standing behind Olivier Giroud in a central attacking midfield position. We know that wherever he is positioned in the midfield, he will be a very important component of the Arsenal side.

But is he too good for Arsenal? People who aren't Arsenal fans and are either Real Madrid or Manchester United fans will be furious that Ozil has left the club and gone to Arsena - a side who haven't won a trophy since 2005.

Germany manager Joachim Low said that Real Madrid's decision to sell Ozil was "incomprehensible", as Low sees him as a top player and one of his 2010 World Cup proteges.

Also, many of Ozil's former Madrid teammates such as Sami Khedira and Sergio Ramos are distraught at the fact that Ozil has moved on to the Premier League.

It was a big move and also a shock move and hopefully it will prove to be the signing of the summer and it will make a difference for Arsenal - can they end their trophyless spell?

Jose Mourinho - who managed Ozil at Real Madrid - said that he couldn't give his striker, Demba Ba, 28, to Arsenal on loan because he now sees Arsenal as serious title contenders after the Ozil signing.

This season could be a big one for Arsenal and with the lack of signings by Manchester United and the lack of chemistry in the Tottenham squad, Arsenal will have a huge chance of winning the title this year. Many Arsenal fans will not be able to wait until September 14 - I know I can't!
