The summer transfer window is now over and all that's left to do is sift through the debris.

Tottenham, for example, enjoyed a rollicking window, living the dream like the ultimate night on the town with the boys from The Hangover, only to wake up with an appropriately-sized hangover and the sobering thought that Arsenal, having beaten them the day before, landed the biggest incoming deal of the window.

We are of course talking about Mesut Ozil, the Real Madrid playmaker whose departure has caused quite a stir.

Regardless of what Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Sami Khedira think however he is now an Arsenal player having moved on deadline day for £42.5 million.

Now that's quite a hefty sum - but does it make him the most expensive player purchased by a Premier League club?
