Jack Wilshere says former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fàbregas is the best player he has ever lined up with during his career.
"The best player I ever played with is probably Cesc Fàbregas,” Wilshere told Esquire Weekly.
21-year-old Wilshire went on to praise the Barcelona playmaker.
He continued: “I only got to play with him for a year before he went back to Barcelona but I learnt so much from him – the way he knew what he was going to do with the ball before he got it and his passing – and he scored goals."
Cesc Fabregas went to Arsenal in 2003 as a 16-year-old boy with loads of talent, looking for a chance. This was an ambition that the English midfielder shared.
“Also, he grew up at Arsenal – he got in to the first team at a young age, which is something I wanted to do,” said the England International.
The former-Gunners captain moved back home to take up "the greatest challenge of his life" in 2011 when he made the switch from Arsenal back to Barcelona.
Cesc Fabregas will be a name Arsenal fans will remember fondly as a player who is one of the best in the world, and provided plenty of wonderful moments for the north London team.
Viewed by many as not just the future of the Arsenal midfield but one of England's potential up and coming great midfielders, Wilshire has a great footballing career ahead of him for both club and country.
He is currently on international duty with the Three Lions ahead of England's double header - they play World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine on Friday and Tuesday.
