Botafogo have found a new hero after Brazilian playmaker Hyuri scored twice on debut in a 3-1 win over Coritiba.

The 21-year-old is on loan at the Estádio Olímpico from Audax Rio, and manager Oswaldo de Oliveira will be desperate to make the move permanent if he continues in this rich vein of form.

Rafael Marques opened the scoring for the hosts on Thursday night, before Hyuri grabbed his first of the night with a far post header.

It was his second goal that will rightly grab the attention of the world’s media, with his solo run, spin and shot sure to be a viral internet hit.

Hyuri picked the ball up on the right channel, ran past a winger and headed towards the box. Met by a defender, he quickly produced a step-over and danced inside the player.

The chance appeared to be gone as a centre back looked to close down the space, but a quick drag-back, then another spin past the full-back attempting to put in a tackle saw him one-on-one with the keeper.

And, from eight-yards out, he was never going to miss.

Coritiba grabbed a late lifeline when Alex converted a penalty after the Botafogo keeper was dismissed, but it’s Hyuri’s effort that is what we all want to see.
