Manchester City striker set for Turkish switch
Manchester City striker John Guidetti set to spend season with Trabzonspor
Manchester City striker John Guidetti is set to hold talks with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, according to Turkish publication DHA.
The highly-rated Swedish striker missed all of last campaign through a serious illness but after returning to full training in the summer and with City boasting the likes of Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, and Stevan Jovetic upfront, the 21-year-old is available for loan.
Guidetti has risen through City's youth system and looks set to be one to watch in the future for the Citizens. An explosive 20 league goals and eight assists while on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord in the season before last more than suggests this.
Under the new Turkish Football Federation ruling of permitting 10 foreign players per-club this season, Trabzonspor would be able to sign Guidetti as they currently have nine non-Turkish players in their ranks.
Amongst these players include former Premier League stars in Florent Malouda, Jose Bosingwa and Didier Zokora.
The Turkish Süper Lig outfit finished in a disappointing ninth place last season - their worst finish for a decade. However, after finishing runners-up in the Turkish Cup, Trabzonspor qualified for the Europa League and Guidetti, if the loan goes through, will certainly look to impress on the big stage.
