New 42.5m Arsenal signing Mesut Ozil is confident his new side will end their eight-year wait to win a trophy this season.
Ozil will be looking to start afresh after his exit from Real Madrid. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to bring the 'X factor' to a squad which already has similar type of players in his position.
Nonetheless, under the guidance and expertise of Arsene Wenger, who will undoubtedly bring the best out of him, Ozil should flourish.
He is another attacking option for them and may prove to be the catalyst in their pursuit of a trophy. After all, he was Madrid's second best player, behind Cristiano Ronaldo. He finished the season with 26 assists, assisting more than any other player in La Liga.
By having his German compatriots Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker by his side, he should have little trouble establishing himself within Arsenal's system. Ozil is the sort of player who can 'unlock' any defence with a killer pass or a solo move.
Arsenal fans will be waiting with eager anticipation to see their record signing orchestrate the midfield with his good vision, slick passing and good movement off the ball.
As the season is still young, it is hard to predict what Arsenal can do after a shaky start. With Olivier Giroud as the only recognised striker, it is incomprehensible as to why they showed lack of effort to sign a backup striker which is what they really required.
This may come back to haunt them especially if they want to compete on all fronts.
