Sporting Lisbon have confirmed that Manchester United did not make a deadline day offer for Bruma.
United were rumoured to have bid £15million for the highly-rated youngster, whom Chelsea have also shown interest in, but Sporting have moved to quash the speculation.
Bruma, who ended up moving to Galatasaray for a pre-agreed fee of £8.5million, was linked with Old Trafford after Moyes had expressed an apparent interest.
Sporting however have confirmed that the bid from Turkish side Galatasaray was the only offer on the table, and that the Premier League champions did not make any formal attempt to sign him.
The news will likely be received well by the vast majority of United fans who were embarrassed by the multiple rejections their side faced from potential transfer targets.
The likes of Thiago Alcantara, Cesc Fabregas and Ander Herrera were all the subject of offers from the Red Devils, but it Marouane Fellaini was the only high-profile deal concluded before the deadline.
Bruma is regarded as being a top talent for the future, and despite signing a five-year-deal with Galatasaray, it's unlikely he will remain in Turkey for too long should his performances continue to impress Europe's biggest suitors.
